Hans Vermeer is a self taught bonsai artist that became interested in bonsai in early 1990 and kept a few bonsai on a tiny balcony. In 1992 when he moved to a house with a garden he joined a local bonsai club, and got involved in the Dutch bonsai scene. From there it went on to winning best of show awards and demonstrations.

Tony Tickle has been working with bonsai since 1983, he specialises in native European trees, in particular; Hawthorn, Yew and Pine. He won his first Ginkgo awards in 1997, UK winner and runner up in the European New talent competition in 1995.
