In the spring of 2015 I took cuttings of my trident bonsai. To my surprise, one of the cuttings took, and in March 2016 I decided a root over rock planting would be my aim. As such, I put a thin layer of soil over the rock. Then I bare rooted the trident cutting, and placed it on the rock. Notice that the plant is still very thin. It is only as thick as a match!
After wrapping the lot in clingfilm, I planted the rock with trident on top in a large container. Today, in mid-May 2016 I can see the first tiny leaves starting to show, indicating that thet cutting has survived the ordeal. Updates in due time.
I am another bonsai enthusiast who appreciates others who enjoy this art form! 🙂
